Social Media Assistant


We are seeking a rock star Social Media Assistant!


The job requires approximately 15-20 hours weekly. You are expected to have experience with social media on a business level. You must be able to think strategically and see how social media fits into a business' marketing strategy, not just "selling" to our customers, but building long-lasting relationships by providing value to them. Must be able to assist in formulating social media plans, and then carry them out. You must be able to measure and document the impact of social media, and then suggest action-steps to increase impact.


The Social Media Assistant will perform the following tasks:

  • Create new profiles and pages (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, etc.)

  • Upload videos, photos, etc.Find users to follow/friend/like our business

  • Write and post blog posts/tweets/updates, etc.Track the growth and the impact of social media on our business

  • Report findings to the team


Skills and attributes expected:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, strong editing skillsKnowledge of social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Constant Contact, LinkedIn, YouTube, blogs, etc.

  • Can-do attitude

  • Creativity with an eye for design. Photoshop skills a plus.

  • Knowledge of digital media software -- Photoshop or other graphic design software, etc. is preferred

  • Willingness to create video blogs, write press releases and daily Facebook posts Energy, with a desire to come up with fresh ideas on how to grow our online presence

  • Ability to identify a target market and "speak" to that consumer through social media


Education: Must have a college degree or be currently enrolled in four-year college for marketing, public relations, communications.


Experience: Samples of past work or examples of capabilities for review.


Required skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and familiarity with social media outlets such as Facebook, Twitter.


Preferred skills: Familiarity with social media outlets such as YouTube, Constant Contact, Bufferapp, Hootsuite and LinkedIn.

Job Scope

  • Aggressively prospect, develop, and close leads through a variety of business development and sales tactics

  • Qualify prospective customers via email and by phone

  • Close deals over the phone or in-person

  • Exceed daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales goals and activity



  • Strong willingness to prospect and discover new digital marketing opportunities and target companies

  • Strong focus on following leads from prospecting to nurturing to closing phases of the business development and sales process

  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, multi-task, and be structured and highly-organized

  • Be persistent and follow through to maintain company visibility

  • Bachelor's Degree or similar work experience required
